Job Description:
A Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and overall hygiene in residential, commercial, or hospitality settings. They ensure that all assigned areas are clean, sanitized, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and safe environment for residents, guests, or employees.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cleaning & Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Sanitize and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces.
- Change bed linens, replace towels, and ensure proper laundry management.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste responsibly.
- Maintain windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces streak-free and polished.
2. Organization & Housekeeping Standards
- Ensure all rooms and common areas are tidy, organized, and well-stocked.
- Arrange furniture, decor, and amenities according to established guidelines.
- Restock toiletries, cleaning supplies, and household essentials as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
3. Laundry & Linen Care
- Wash, dry, fold, and iron clothes, linens, and fabrics.
- Manage laundry schedules and handle delicate fabrics with care.
- Maintain an organized linen storage system.
4. Hospitality & Guest Service (If applicable)
- Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and set up according to standards.
- Provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests.
- Respond to special requests, such as extra bedding, towels, or cleaning services.
5. Inventory & Supplies Management
- Keep track of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and household items.
- Notify management of needed restocks or maintenance issues.
- Ensure efficient use of supplies to minimize waste.
6. Reporting & Maintenance Assistance
- Identify and report damages, repairs, or maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for necessary repairs.
- Ensure all appliances and equipment are in good working condition.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or hospitality (preferred but not required).
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle cleaning tasks efficiently.
